a survey; a summary<\/p>\n<p class=\"prose\"><em>Her holdings and property were so extensive and varied that her headman prepared a <\/em>conspectus<em> for himself to keep track of all his responsibilities.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>8. <strong>puggle<\/strong> &#8211;to poke (as a hole or pipe) with a stick or wire in order to remove obstacles<\/p>\n<p class=\"prose\"><em>He <\/em>puggled<em> the drain to clear the sink, rather than use caustic chemicals which might damage the pipes.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>9. <strong>collywobbles<\/strong> &#8212; rumbling in the intestines<\/p>\n<p class=\"prose\"><em>The veritable storm of <\/em>collywobbles<em> frightened the passengers on either side of the afflicted, trapped as they were by the rear of the plane.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>10. <strong>cicerone<\/strong> &#8212;
