Though of course the ideal usage of pikes was the square which the Swiss perfected, the Scottish <\/em>schiltron has the advantage of not requiring the years of training and incredible discipline necessary to make the complicated evolutions of the former.<\/em><\/p>\n

6. eschatological<\/strong> \u2014 of or pertaining to the science or study of last things: death, judgment, heaven, hell<\/p>\n

As the decade wound to a close, his articles took on a decidedly <\/em>eschatological tone, mirroring perhaps his own preoccupation with the course of his partner\u2019s debilitating disease.<\/em><\/p>\n

7. deglutition<\/strong> \u2014 the act of swallowing<\/p>\n
