woman&#8217;s coat with cutaway skirts<\/p>\n<p class=\"prose\"><em>In 1757 the King forbade the wearing of <\/em>redingotes<em> by university students, having learned that some students forebode to wear full dress beneath the outer garment.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>7. <strong>chapiter<\/strong> \u2014 [<em>architecture<\/em>] decorated capital atop a pillar<\/p>\n<p class=\"prose\"><em>Of course these two brass <\/em>chapiters<em> were melted down and taken along with all the rest of the wealth of the temple by the conquering armies of Babylon.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>8. <strong>tilbury<\/strong> \u2014 open light two-wheeled carriage<\/p>\n<p class=\"prose\"><em>The advantage of the <\/em>tilbury<em>, of course, is its exceptional maneuverability, making it the perfect vehicle for traversing the twisting paths surrounding the manor.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>9. <strong>enteric<\/strong> \u2014 of, related to, or occurring in the intestines<\/p>\n<p class=\"prose\"><em>The body is equipped by nature with processes to handle <\/em>enteric<em> gas production, so reports of bloating require particular care to assess accurately.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>10. <strong>enteric fever<\/strong> \u2014 typhoid fever<\/p>\n<p class=\"prose\"><em>The onset of <\/em>enteric fever<em> can be quite subtle, and cases which occur after a bout of influenza may be difficult of diagnosis.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Bonus Vocabulary<\/h4>\n<p class=\"has-small-font-size\">(Latin)<\/p>\n<p><strong>modus ponens<\/strong> \u2014 logical principle governing &#8216;if-then&#8217; statements, whereby given a true conditional statement and a true antecedent (e.g., &#8220;if <em>A<\/em> then <em>B<\/em>\u201d, where <em>A<\/em> is presumed to be true), the consequent must be true (<em>B<\/em> in the example);
