Where are those brave men who <\/em>whilere strove ‘gainst not only armies but opposed the fearsome attacks of Nature herself?<\/em><\/p>\n

7. ovipositor<\/strong> \u2014 egg-laying tube of some insects or fish<\/p>\n

The <\/em>ovipositor of the wasp was designed for piercing, in order to lay her eggs within a paralyzed host.<\/em><\/p>\n

8. undine<\/strong> \u2014 water nymph or spirit<\/p>\n

In the classic tale, a nobleman falls in love with an <\/em>undine he discovers living with some of his tenants, with tragic consequences.<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

9. teen<\/strong> \u2014 [archaic<\/em>] grief, trouble<\/p>\n

He wore ever a gladsome smile in public to conceal his private <\/em>teen.<\/em><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

10. silentiary<\/strong> \u2014 one who remains silent, esp. as a religious compulsion; historical official of courts who stayed silent<\/p>\n

His honor still offended, Patrick remains a <\/em>silentiary until such time as his quondam friends make him a formal apology, so we are enjoying a respite of blissful peace around the house just now.<\/em><\/p>\n
