Bonus Vocabulary<\/h4>\n

(Latin)<\/p>\n

deus otiosus<\/strong> \u2014 deity which no longer interacts at all with humans after once creating the world and starting it in motion<\/p>\n

But Staney’s argument is merely the same idea of a <\/em>deus otiosus who has left the field for other, lesser divinities\u2014’divinities’ which may, as he expresses it, merely be human-created facets of hopes for the divine, rather than any overarching power itself.<\/em><\/p>\n
